First time poster, long time user . . ..

I brought down a few shows last week via ftp thru audio17.etree.org, sts9-11/15/03, signal.path-9/16/03 and such - when i attempted to decode them i got an error saying 'not correct 8/12/24 bit format' or something. when I download one by one within my browser, no problems.

I would love to hear what others thoughts are on this error . . . is it just me?

I'd venture a guess and say it's probably the FTP client downloading the FLAC files as ascii.
(checked d2t11; passed md5 & decode)

Is there anything I can/should do to prevent this?

Hmm, i have had great success with flac via ftp in the past, why now?

The FTP program might not be the problem though.
Try checking what options you have with ascii/binary downloads, when downloading as well as the program's settings...
